Second Chance Wildlife Center out of Gaithersburg, MD is participating in the Crowdrise, Earth Day Roadmap Climate Challenge, which begins on April 20th and ends May 18th, 2017.
These guys work tirelessly and are passionate about rehabbing injured wildlife and orphaned baby animals who find themselves negatively impacted by urban sprawl in the Montgomery County, MD area.
If you are a fan of helping injured and orphaned wildlife and would like to create a Team to help raise or match funds, then read on.
As a thank you for your efforts, your corporate team will be featured on our fundraising page during the entire event! Our Facebook page has over 32,000 followers and we will be sure to give you a shout out there as well!
Here's the goal, help us bring it into reality!
Each year, concerned citizens and animal services officers bring Second Chance about 3,000 distressed native wild animals — songbirds, raptors, waterfowl, squirrels, groundhogs, chipmunks, bats, rabbits, turtles, and a host of other native species — for medical treatment, attentive care, and release.
After 20 years of hard service, and treating over 75,000 animals, the farmhouse that currently houses Second Chance’s operations needs to be retired. It was never designed to function as a wildlife clinic, and the years have taken their toll. Staff struggles to make it work as best they can, but certain limitations simply cannot be surmounted.
Obstacles and inefficiencies at the farmhouse are myriad, but perhaps the worst problem is that, in the busy season, the center is constantly running out of room for incoming patients and has to improvise to accommodate all the animals people bring it.
Animals suffering from life-threatening injuries need your help. Won't you create a Team and help us made a bigger difference during this Earth Day Challenge?
So click here, form a Team, raise some funds for the great new facility and let’s make a bigger impact for Earth Day … together!
