Humans learn by story telling. We are drawn into a story that we can identify with...by something that touches us...and connects us with others who share similar philosophies or beliefs.
Take a look at these two organizations, both of whom I love to follow and support.
FeedProjects.com has done a great job sharing their story with their Facebook Page. What would it mean for you to have a 60,000 + audience eager to hear about your next event or campaign?
Or what about a 260,000 + tribe of active followers which Kiva.org has created? Take a look at how they share the stories about how they are making an impact in the world...and even more impressively, how you can make an impact as well, with your loans/donations.
What could you do with a broader reach? How big of an impact could you make if you had a tribe of followers helping to spread your message far and wide?

If you are not on top of, or preferably in front of, this tsunami of a growth opportunity, then ask yourself "why not?"
Then take a look at these *must haves* and plan to put them in place ASAP.
Documented social media strategy: What is your plan of attack? Where do you plan to execute and why? How will you ensure consistent follow through?
Human resources: Who will pull all of this together for you? Do you need to hire full time staff? Split responsibility amongst a couple of employees; or contract out?
Tracking: How will you know your efforts/investment is paying off?
If you are serious about the impact your health related, non profit has now and in the future...your online presence and the ability to share your story with the people eager to hear it is critical.
Don't let another day go by without taking action and following through with making a bigger impact on line and putting the power of social media behind you.
