If you've been wondering how to make it happen or would like to know if any of this describes you...read on.

  • Hire a company who knows nothing about sales funnel management, list building or SEO to build your website.

  • Randomly post on all platforms of social media with no plan or strategy.

  • Hire a bunch of the cheapest contractors you can find to pull together your brand for you.

  • Don't offer value...sell, sell, sell 24-7.

  • Don't worry about social media, no one cares and it's just a fad.

  • Expect everything to be free and quickly return million of wildly enthusiastic clients and sales...yeee yaw!!!

  • Put up a web page and expect people to find it, then want to buy things from you.

  • Have no CTA or call to action on your web page.

  • Talk about the technical aspects of your product or business rather than the benefits to the people reading your message. We are talking health & wellness here...but don't worry about having a personal connection with your audience.

The numbers on social are undeniable...
  • 78% of people who use social media to sell perform better than their peers (Forbes).
  • 64% of people who use inbound social selling achieve their targets (The Aberdeen Group).
  • 90% of all buyers admit that by the time they come into contact with the seller directly, they’ve already decided that they’re going to buy via social media (Forrester).

Branding, communicating on social media and then ultimately making sales takes a strategy, logistical expertise, testing and time.
Do your research and hire on an expert specific to the health & wellness industry (either in house or as a contractor) in order to get results and reach your goals online!

Why You MUST Create Successful Facebook Campaigns For Your Health Business

4/18/2016

Social media. It's not just about selfies, cat videos and posting what you are eating for lunch. By contrast, it is a tool to connect people, initiate conversations, share valuable information, research items we are interested in buying, learn more about companies we are interested in doing business with, asking questions and getting answers.

Here are a few examples and results from big brands making a big impact. I used these examples to get you to see what's possible.
 From  Social Media Examiner

The Dove campaign

This inspiring video helped Dove get close to half a million views and thousands of likes, comments and shares. In the video they hardly mention the brand. This isn’t a commercial—they’re telling a story.
Dove also encourages tagging by asking their fans to tell a story about someone who means something to them. Tagging someone else in a post can also be a great way to help get the word out about a timeline contest

Create and share videos, since video gets more engagement on Facebook.

FYI... Facebook pulled in $12.5 billion in ad revenue in 2014, and mobile ad sales now makes up more than 70 percent of the business.

From Adweek's 12 Best Facebook Marketing Campaigns

Like a Girl
Procter & Gamble
Leo Burnett Toronto, Chicago, London/Holler
Award category: Craft (blue winner)

With the hashtag #LikeAGirl, the Always feminine-hygiene brand confronted gender norms by asking people to change their perception of what it means to "act like a girl." The videos spread all over social media, showing young kids giving positive representations of how to run, throw and punch like a girl.

Goals: Drive an emotional connection to Always, build awareness and boost purchase intent.

Results: Emotional connection rose from 38 percent to 41 percent. Ad recall from people who saw the ads was 47 percent, and brand linkage was 59 percent. It was the most watched video in Procter & Gamble history with 76 million views globally. Top-of-mind awareness from the campaign's target audience rose 9 percentage points to 58 percent. Earned impressions hit 250 million. Purchase intent among teens rose from 40 percent to 60 percent.

I Will What I Want
UnderArmour
Droga5
Award category: Integrated (gold)

This sportswear brand tried to broaden its appeal among women with a social campaign starring Misty Copeland, the ballerina, and Gisele Bundchen. They created videos featuring the women and invited the masses to comment, messages that were then used in the campaign, as well.

Goals: Awareness, brand lift, drive purchase intent, traffic and sales.

Results: 5 billion media impressions and $35 million in free media with a 42 percent boost in traffic to UA.com. Under Armour Women's sales lifted 28 percent.

Now, you don't have to have a multi million dollar ad budget to share something of value, increase awareness and position yourself as the experts in your field, but you do have to stay on top of trends, have something of value to share and hire a team to strategize, create and execute a strategy for you.

It is quite likely that YOUR optimum audience is spending a fair amount of time on Facebook these days. What are you doing to ensure you are properly represented?

Selfies & cat videos don't cut it. If you can wrap your head around the potential, that is the first step towards making an impact which generates results!

If you have been struggling to manage your internet presence, Social Media and Digital Marketing. Or you know you need to "be out there" in a much bigger way, but you are just not sure *how* --- we can help. Since 2009 we have been getting results online for the Health and Wellness industry. 10 Ways to Jumpstart Sales and Get Out of a Slump

4/14/2016

Picture
It happens to everyone at one point or another. Things are moving along at a relatively consistent pace and then "BAM!" out of nowhere (or so it seems) everything comes to a grinding halt, rather like the wind that completely dies while sailing, and no matter what you do; you just can't seem to jump start the process and get things back on track again.

It almost seems that the harder you try, the worse it gets.

The most successful salespeople learn from their mistakes and improve year after year.

Learn from your bad days.
The reality is that sales slumps are simply a part of doing business. Here are 10 Powerful Tips on Jumpstarting Your Sales when the going gets rough.

1) Don't let it get you down

Take a step back and a deep breath...step AWAY from your desk...lap top and phone...breathe; then take a walk or the afternoon off. Take time to change your state and distance yourself enough from the situation, so that you are able to see things with a different set of eyes, or perspective, upon your return.

2) Fill er up

Fill your schedule with as many sales meetings as possible. It only takes a few deals to get you back on fire. Where can you get a hold of fresh new leads or prospects?

Can you join forces with a similarly niched, yet non-competing company or organization?
Have you tapped in to your LinkedIn network recently? Fill your pipeline as full and as fast as you can; and you'll soon have the power of momentum back on your side.

3) Get back to basics

Challenges aren't usually caused by something complicated. When you are looking to jumpstart your way out of a sales slump, ask yourself ...

Are you marketing consistently? Is it working?
Is it time to rethink your strategy?
Is there a better way to reach your perspective client?
What is something that worked in the past, but you haven't done for a while?
How about doubling or tripling the number of prospects you have in the pipeline, rather than putting all emphasis on closing each sale?
Keep it simple and your actions consistent, in order to gain the traction you need.

4) Work smarter and harder

Think of 5 things you could do this week to work more effectively (one new idea for each day of the work week). Then commit to working just a little bit harder on each until you turn things around.

I keep a "marketing" file in Evernote, whenever I see an article, idea or software program that I may want to implement at some point, I clip it to that file and then review it when things dry up. Inevitably I'll get a flash of insight or come across a tool that will allow me to shake things up a bit with a new idea and help me climb out of the slump.

5) Get a coach

Who can you reach out to in order to get an objective view of the situation at hand?

Think of going outside of your industry for a real eye opener. Who do you know who is consistently successful in real estate? What about a brick and mortar retail establishment? A friend who has a successful MLM business?
Step outside of your industry and niche for a bit. Take someone out for coffee or lunch and pick their brain. Better yet, create an accountability partner who you can connect with weekly; in order to make sure you both have followed through with your major objectives for the week.

6) Stop doing the same thing over and over again

Stop beating your head against the wall. Getting desperate and fearful gets you nowhere...fast. Prospects can detect desperation a mile away. It's time to do something different to break out of the cycle.

7) Get in and stay in balance

You have to be creative and flexible if you are going to jumpstart the slump.

Sometimes that means you need to step away from the business and take care or you...your body, your mind, your spirit...all of you. Take time to meditate, or pray, work out, spend time outdoors - daily - in order to balance yourself first, so that you are better able to balance the needs of your business.

8) Break your patterns

Change your patterns.  Do something different...shake up your diet, go to the library and look for a book that catches your attention - check it out and read it, watch a documentary on something you know nothing about, work at a coffee shop instead of your office...anything to shift your energy and encourage new flow into your life.

9) Do your research

Take a few minutes to research that individual or company (prospective client) you are wanting to connect with. Jump on Linkedin, Google; even Facebook can be a great resources in terms of gaining knowledge about your prospect, as well as becoming aware of things you may have in common with them.

10) Get better at following up

Following up can be the most overlooked portion of the sales process.

Dan Kennedy for Entrepreneur Magazine states...

"People buy when they're ready to buy, not when you're ready to sell. This means you have to be in front of folks when they’re ready to buy. In other words, you have to follow up with them religiously."

If you need help with automating the process, check out these 15 free online sales follow up tools from Open View Partners. Once you start to use a system to help you with your follow up, you'll never go back to stickie notes and reminders.

The bottom line is "shake things up" and keep taking different action, until you turn the tides, jumpstart your sales process; and get the power of momentum back on your side once again.

6 Powerful Ways To Deal With Toxic People In Business

4/10/2016

Picture
Whether it's someone you work with, a friend or family member... all of us must work or deal with negative people from time to time.

When it's someone you must interact with daily it can be a challenge to maintain your balance or positive outlook.

When you pair negative with difficult and manipulative it's best have a game plan for maintaining your sanity and moving forward with grace.

Here are 6 Powerful Ways to do just that!

1) Avoid whiners.

You know who I'm talking about. People who are so incredibly negative that they do not even realize the impact they make on those around them. The kind of person who would complain about having to pay taxes after winning the lottery.

These types of people will never enhance your life. If you know anyone like this, ....DRASTICALLY limit the time with them.

They don’t offer solutions, only wallow in problems (they seem to actually ENJOY this). They will  suck you in to their habitual drama-fest if you let them. DON'T. If a friend, family member or colleague tries to suck you in...DO NOT LET THEM!

Don’t feel pressured to sit and listen to a negative person.
When they continually point out problems, ask what they intend to do to fix them.

2) Take a time out.

Politely excuse yourself from a conversation, keep conversations short and choose NOT to engage in any of the toxic talk. Show that you are choosing not to play and often times these types of individuals will become bored or intimidated by your attitude which then causes them to seek other prey.

Take the high road.
Don't get sucked in.

3) Honor your space.

The only thing you can control about a chronically negative person is your reaction to them. Often times they have no desire to change. Do not let them steal your positive energy or the spark in your eye. Keep time spent with them short and plan ahead in order not to get sucked in, for example...if you have a meeting or appointment in 10 minutes and you are needing to return a call of theirs, call a few minutes before times up in order to control the situation.

Avoid people who only only focus on problems and don't offer solutions.
Stop socializing with those who bring you down.

4) Get rid of negative employees...FAST.

Negativity, pessimism and gossip are like a cancer. They can spread undetected and can do a tremendous amount of damage before being dealt with. Don't let this happen to your organization or brand. Get together to share your concerns with the individual and give them a chance to change. If the behavior continues, you must deal with it accordingly. One toxic employee can destroy years of positive culture building.

Protect your livelihood and your super awesome employees.
Focus on solutions, not problems.

5) Take care of yourself and get the support you need.

Sleep well, eat well, mind your thoughts, take walks, move your body...do the things you need to do in order to stay in top form physically and mentally. When you need to get an outsiders perspective, do so.  Reach out to someone you trust and admire, not to vent but rather to get some council on how to move forward in a productive and positive way.

Get help when you need it.
Rise above.

6) Walk your walk.

Remain positive and don't allow yourself to be drug down. Listen to positive messages (YouTube is a great place to get inspired...just search motivation or positive mindset and see what I mean). Set yourself up to win every day. Read positive text, hang out with positive people, avoid mindless absorption of the news, condition yourself to get better every day.

Manage your stress.
Do something every day that will make you better than yesterday.

5 Proven, Success Habits of Highly Effective Entrepreneurs

Success leaves clues. Making it all look effortless takes discipline, determination and will (perhaps a little stubbornness and crazy as well).

Here are 5 Tips that have been  consistently implemented by business owners from Stephen Covey to Richard Branson and many others in between.

1) Have a "Big Picture" Focus, Eliminate Distractions.
Don't let the small things derail your forward motion.
  1. Mindless web surfing (use the timer on your phone to stay on task...if you find yourself getting diverted, close down those tabs and start timer over again until task is complete).
  2. Interruptions (Train people to schedule time with you, rather than dropping by or calling out of the blue for a "quick" chat which then winds up taking 30 minutes of your day).
  3. Email (STOP checking it 5,000 time a day...twice is usually far more effective).
  4. Use the Do Not Disturb function on your iPhone or Android device to temporarily pause notifications and schedule interruption-free periods of time.
  5. Work on your Top Goals for the day FIRST. This  ensures you stay focused on what you need to accomplish in order to reap the biggest rewards. This will get positive momentum ON YOUR SIDE...which is a great way to start your day...every day!
  6. Set the vision, empower your team, and get out of the way!

2) Say “No” When You Need To.
What are the activities that only YOU can do? What do YOU do best, which reaps the biggest rewards?
  1. Focus on performing these types of tasks at least 80% (with a goal of 100%) of the time. Train staff and delegate the rest.
  2. When you catch yourself trying to micromanage, reflect on your vision...are you here to get caught up in paperwork or create an enterprise?
  3. Act as if you are already there...at your goal...what does a day in your life look and feel like from that standpoint?
  4. Train others to be decision makers and problem solvers, you can't do it all.
  5. Remember to delegate in order to grow.

3) Use Tools That Help You "Work Smarter."
  1. For project sharing Trello
  2. For idea capturing, writing & information management Evernote
  3. For social media sharing Buffer
  4. For corporate communication and file sharing Google apps

4) Use The Early Hours To "Sharpen The Saw" BEFORE  jumping into your day.
  1. Get up early and focus on yourself, this sets the stage for a productive, rather than, busy day.
  2. Give thanks.
  3. Be grateful for what you have and all the good that is coming your way.
  4. Work out.
  5. Meditate.
  6. Be present.

5) "Measure" Your Progress.
  1. Determine "what" needs to be measured and "how" you will go about it.
  2. Don't get caught up in complexity. It can be as simple as targets and numbers on a white board.
  3. Schedule time each week/month to review progress in areas that need to be measured. Whatever you and your team determine to be critical to growth and improvement. Make it easy to collect, understand and review findings, things like...
    • Financials
    • Numbers of new clients on board
    • Client results
    • Employee satisfaction and results

When you mirror those who have successfully gone before you, you can eliminate the learning curve and the development of bad habits. Implement a few or all of these and then assess  what works best for you and your team.
Did I leave out any habits which work really well for you?
Please share your best habits with us in the comment area below.

I read...a lot, and sometimes a few sentences hop off the page and into my head in such a way that shifts the trajectory of a day, month, year or lifetime.

Here are a few small words that can make a Big Impact!

Today I will multiply my value a hundredfold.

I will commit not to the terrible crime of aiming too low.

I will do the work that failure will not do.

I will always let my reach exceed my grasp.

I will never be content with my performance in the market.

I will always raise my goals as soon as they are attained.

I will always strive to make the next hour better that this one.

I will always announce my goals to the world.

Yet, never will I proclaim my accomplishments.

Let the world, instead, approach me with praise and may I have the wisdom to receive it in humility.

Here's What You Can Learn From Custom Facebook Reports

4/5/2016

Picture
Having a presence on line is critical in today's consumer driven economy. People are checking things out on line before making a decision where and with whom to do business with. If you are not properly represented on line, this, unfortunately, does not make a good first impression.

Perhaps you are dabbling in social media. You post from time to time or have hired someone to post for you, but are you getting results?

Make no mistake, getting seen is now a pay to play game.

So.....

Are you using Facebook ads for your business? If so, are you tracking your conversions with Facebook reports yet?

How do you measure your results with Facebook Reports and what should you be looking to track?
In a word...conversions.
Meaning, did your ads make money?

So how should you track your results?  Create a custom Facebook report that tells you everything you need to know. Here's how to set up Facebook Reports.

The tracking choices can be overwhelming. Here is an break down of what information is available to you.

Performance – Shows you the performance of your ads based on your objective.

Delivery – Shows the delivery stats of your campaign – Reach, Frequency, Impressions, and CPM.

Engagement – This tracks link clicks, post comments, post likes, post shares, and page likes.

Video Engagement – This breaks down how many people watched 3 seconds, 10 seconds, and the complete video.

App Engagement – Basically the same as Video Engagement and Engagement. How many downloads you’ve received, and how people are interacting.

Carousel Engagement – Tells you all you need to know about engagement on your carousel ads.

Performance and Clicks – Breakdown about link clicks and click through rates.

Cross-Device – Tracks interactions with your website or app on other devices.

Here are more ways to slice and dice the data.

By Delivery
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Age and Gender
  • Country
  • Region
  • Placement
  • Placement and Device
  • Product ID

By Action
  • Conversion Device
  • Destination
  • Video View Type
  • Carousel Card

By Time
  • Day
  • Week
  • 2 Weeks
  • Month

As you develop your social media strategy, take action and then analyze your results, you will learn more about your audience, what they are looking for and how you can be of better service, increase your reach and step ahead of your competition now and in the future.

If you have been struggling to manage your internet presence, Social Media and Digital Marketing. The 3 Biggest Mistakes Companies Make With Their Digital & Social Marketing

4/1/2016

Picture
You know you need to become proficient at digital marketing and social media.

If you don't, you will be left behind.

What most companies don't understand, however, is that there are a multitude of pieces that need to be working together in order to get the results you are looking for.

Doing one without the others tend to leave you with less than stellar results and a frustrating overall experience.

Here are the top three issues we see daily when working with clients.

1.) No Strategy or Objectives

Where do you start? How do you maximize your time and resources with regard to sharing content and increasing engagement?

It's important to decide WHAT your objectives are BEFORE committing to jump into your digital marketing strategy.

Ask yourself... Are you wanting to...
  • Build followers?
  • Grow your brand?
  • Establish your company or yourself as a leader within your industry niche?
  • Sell more products or programs?
  • Increase your web site traffic?
  • Make better business connections?
  • Get feedback on creating new products before launching?

Once you decide, only then should you put together a game plan to move forward.

2.) No Consistent Schedule

A random shot in the dark approach seldom works.

When someone says "I want to go viral" it's a big red flag that they need some help in clarifying objectives and understanding that online marketing is more about what you do every day rather than achieving viral status.

It is important, therefore, to have a plan and execute it on a regular basis. Swinging for the fences is fine every once in a while, but it's what you do consistently that counts.

Break it down by quarter, month and day...

Work backwards from your objectives and then determine what type of content you will be sharing (blogs, video, infographics, call to action), how often and where you will be sharing it.

3.) No Back End System

People need to know, like and trust you before they choose to hire or do business with you. You need to touch them 7-10 times before making a sale (hence the beauty of social media. It's a constant conversation and opportunity to stay top of mind).

Putting thought and systems in place will increase your results dramatically.

Here are some tools that will help you analyze and manage your results.

Sales funnel creation and management Infusionsoft or Clickfunnels
Content dissemination Buffer & Hootsuite
ROI tracking SproutSocial

When you hear someone say that social media marketing doesn't work for them it's generally because they didn't have all pieces of  the puzzle working together at once. When you get help and finally harness that power, the result can be incredibly impressive.
