If you work for a company and you are looking to build your presence online in order to help you build your career, or you have your own business in place, you may have been told by the alleged gurus that social media is a place where anyone can accomplish anything.
This couldn't be further from the truth.
While social media and inexpensive platforms allowing you to be seen by lots of people is something that has decreased the barrier of entry substantially, you still have to be a quality individual offering quality products before you will be taken seriously long term.
And the incessant NOISE, you must be able to penetrate and RISE ABOVE the noise and clutter that a low barrier of entry offers.
You've probably heard that there's a 10 step program or a template that you can follow to be on your way to a world of financial abundance and perpetual bliss.
I hate to burst your bubble, but after growing businesses prior to the Cowboy and Indians days of social media and adapting quite well during this period as well, I can share with you a few points that you may want to take into consideration prior to thinking that starting a blog is going to be your path to millions.
Not to encourage you NOT to take action. But just to help you understand that there’s quite a bit more to being successful online than following a template.
Anyone can do this. Nope. Not true. If you are tough, tenacious, persistent, patient and have a quality product or service to offer then you've got a shot. If you focus exclusively on starting a Facebook page, buying followers and copy other people’s contents, you're done.
Start with what you stand for, followed by what you offer. What problems are you solving for people? How are you adding value to people's lives?
Go there first. Get some clients. Prove your business model. Then start to build your presence online.
You need a 10 step funnel and a tripwire offer to be successful. This fallacy is sold to you by the people who are providing you with a course teaching you how to create a 10 step funnel and a tripwire product.
This is not the only way to become successful online. It is a way to make a couple bucks selling a product. You will then need to be constantly filling that funnel with additional products in order to maintain and increase cash flow.
It's not something that ensures success or guarantees that you will earn money after spending a ton upfront on your education and the tools necessary to carry out the entire process. If you’ve already proven the business model then great! Otherwise, save your money until you know you have products that are proven to sell and correct target market to sell them to in place.
All you need to do is read a few books and take a couple of courses and you'll have everything you need to become successful online. Algorithms, tools, pricing structure on all social platforms can change daily. Literally. You must be committed to being in a constant state of learning in order to gain traction and maintain your position online.
This new way of marketing has changed everything. While it has changed many many things, what hasn't changed is that people expect to be treated fairly, they expect to work with people who are professional and follow through with what they say they're going to do. While you will be able to fool some of the people some of the time and make a quick buck, creating a long-term business off of your presence online is something that requires you to be providing a solid product through a solid business model just like before.
Social media and presence building online offer opportunity...that is it...it’s up to you to put the effort behind the offer and see where your abilities take you.
