![]() When it's dark, cold, icy and dreary it can be really tough to reach down deep and pull out what it takes to stick to your New Years Resolutions and Goals for yourself. But this is the time of year, that if you follow through, you will reap the benefits big time when the beautiful weather returns. You know how it feels when you dig into your closet, trying to find something comfortable and cute to wear, only to be completely deflated when nothing fits or you have to plan outfits based on covering things up rather than showing off your assets? Get active now and you can take closet drama off the list of stressors in your life. Here are a few tips to help you discover your inner Viking. Pay attention to the weather - If it is sunny and you don't have a prior commitment, GET OUTSIDE! We need vitamin D for a multitude of reasons and lack of sunshine can be a big bummer in the winter time, so when it's sunny, don't waste it. Take a walk, hike, snowshoe, ice skate, ski, board...just get out there! Get equipped - On a recent hiking excursion I neglected to take along Yak Tracks for traction on ice, the result? A really short hiking trip :(. Buy quality gear...breathable shirts to layer, wind/water proof jacket, head cover and gloves. If you are comfortable, you will spend more time outside and start making that a habit for yourself. Find an inside resource - A gym membership; a local YMCA, 24 Hour Fitness, community centers can all offer indoor opportunities to have fun, meet people, get and stay fit. Find a buddy - Preferably someone a little further along in their journey to fitness than you. Why? Because you want to align yourself with people you want to become more like, not someone who would rather be at Starbucks "horking" down a gigantic muffin and super sized, sugar latte supreme. Just sayin'. Remember that being fit and taking care of yourself is not a quick fix, it is an attitude and way of life. Make it yours! #gotime #noexcuses #commonsensehealth #fitin2015 #Resolutions You've got this ;) xoxo Kim Get the latest and greatest by signing up for our newsletter. Just click here.
