We all have times when we are not living up to our fullest potential, don’t we? Or maybe we just got hit with some challenging news and it’s time to reevaluate our focus.
To be alive is to be in a constant state of change. Failure and setbacks are all a part of the process, not something to beat yourself up over.
Here are three simple ways to pull yourself out of a funk and back on the path to what you are really looking to achieve.
Don't live in the past. If you find yourself reliving your mistakes over and over again STOP… just stop!
The past is over. If you're going to reflect on anything at all, reflect on what you've learned. Apply that information now as you move forward while letting go of the past.
Don’t let fear of the future paralyze you. Instead, visualize your success. What does your perfect day look like?
What types of people are you surrounded by? What types of things interest you? If you were living in your ideal world with your ideal job what exactly does that look and feel like?
Wrap your head around that get clear on that vision and then start to become the type of person that has earned and deserves that lifestyle.
It is not about wishing and dreaming and hoping that something falls into your lap one day, it's all about becoming the type of person that deserves the things that you desire.
Write things down. Although we all have a myriad of ways to be more effective with the various apps and tools that we have access to, there's something magic that happens when we take the time to write something down on paper.
Take the time to write down your fears.
Take the time to write down possible solutions.
Take the time to write out your vision of the future.
When you get things out of your head and get down on paper, it helps you comprehend the situation a little better think of solutions and then engages your brain to work towards them.
We all stumble and fall we all failed to live up to our expectations of ourselves and we all have a tendency to beat ourselves up from time to time, but when we do this we are not doing ourselves any favors, we are impeding our progress forward and we are setting an unhealthy example for those around us.
It truly is OUR RESPONSIBILITY to find ways to pick ourselves up as quickly as possible and move forward in a positive light.
It doesn't have to be grand or ridiculously brave, but rather step by step, day by day. Baby steps will get you there.
Just take the first one… then the next …
