Fear is powerful, and serves a great purpose when your life is in danger, but can be paralyzing and debilitating when it is allowed to stifle your ability to take action and move forward in the direction of your dreams.
Here are 10 Ways to help you overcome procrastination. If you reflect on and then take action with these tools consistently, you will be VERY glad you did.

See and feel your results
How will you feel when this task is complete and you absolutely knocked it out of the park?
What will your life be like when you become the type of person who consistently takes action, follows through and get things done?
Imagine the cumulative effect over a few days, weeks, months, years!
Take some time to surround yourself with those luscious thoughts of achievement, pride and success! Feels good, doesn’t it?
Alright. Let’s make it happen!
Get the picture? Good. Let’s move forward, shall we?
Just do it - Get started
Do one thing, and then another and then another…
Get yourself out of the big picture and into “getting stuff done” mode.
Example: “I need to write a report on our quarterly objectives.”
One Thing: What’s the title? Next thing...Which subjects am I going to cover? Next thing...Where am I getting my data from? Next thing...Who can help me with graphics and formatting?
Baby Steps get you there
Build your confidence, gain some positive momentum.
Break your goal into bite-sized pieces. Take action on these smaller items. Cross them off your list and feel your confidence and sense of pride increase as you move forward.
Wash, rinse, repeat - until complete.
Get the basic information you need to move forward.
If you find yourself in “perpetual research” mode - catch yourself - stop- and move forward with a small step that takes you out of your head and into “yay, I’m getting things done!” mode.
Beware of excuses
Get over yourself!
Start taking action - commit to completing at least three small steps - build confidence - build momentum - don’t let excuses run your life!
Time makes fools of all of us...DO NOT “excuse” your way out of the life you really want for yourself. Just don’t.
Feel the Fear and do it Anyway
The difference between people who get things done and those who don’t is not the lack of fear, the people who get things done feel the fear and do it anyway. Be one of those guys.
Make a pronouncement and find people who will check in, support and hold you accountable.
If your goal is to get fit, for example, take a class; connect with the trainer and other members of the class on Facebook...check in with one another in between classes. Are you eating well? Having a rough day?
Make it known, get encouragement and support. This can be huge in terms of achieving and exceeding your desired outcome.
The power of support is real and long lasting. Take advantage of it.
Use Memory enhancing tools
Don’t rely exclusively on your memory. Give yourself all the support you need in order to keep track of what must be complete by when, and the information you will need to get the job done.
Did you follow through all week or month? Give yourself a treat to celebrate!
Reward positive momentum with something that will give you satisfaction and pride….whatever that may be for you.
Become a part of humanity that steps up and follows through.
